- You should check to see if there are any jumper blocks on the serial
- board. On some (Wang) computers I know you could disable com2. Also
- possible is that the com2 physical port is not plugged onto the
- controller serial board.

- Using a terminal program (or trumpet in manual dial) you can do a loop
- back test. Stick a screw driver blade so that it shorts out pin 2 to
- 3 and then type. The loopback will echo your typing on the screen if
- the port is working. You will have to get the IO base address right
- to get anything to work at all. Also try out MSD in DOS to see if it
- knows about the port
